Purpose Statement:

DBF All Girls Enrichment Academy provides relevant opportunities for at-risk girls in a therapeutic lifestyle living enviroment to overcome life-controlling issues and realize their full academic potential, bridging the transition to traditional classroom success and/or college and career readiness.

DBF All Girls Enrichment Academy will provide a distraction-free structured environment where girls who are struggling in a traditional school setting, focus most of their time on academics, social and mental health. All girls learn on different educational paces and levels than their peers. This gives girls the opportunity to get caught up with their academics and have the nurturing needed to get through their everyday lives.

DBF areas of focus are:

  • Behavioral health

  • Mental health that results from past trauma, grief, sexual abuse,

  • Learning disabilities

  • Homelessness

  • Sex trafficking

Many girls who have struggled in the standard education system, find they are academically inclined or slightly behind their peers.

We will encourage our girls to complete the 2 year program with 2 trades, 1 creative art, home economics 101, real estate and a savings of 2,500.00.

An academic plan will be created for each young lady and will vary according to each girl’s individual academic goals. Their progress will be monitored by their lifestyle  advisor.

Our  program will set an educational & mental health plan specifically for your girl’s needs. We are purposely designed for a smaller student body, 12 girls or less. We will focus on grades 7-12 and young adults starting at age 17-25.  Our girls education & mental health plan will be set to make sure that she is challenged to complete the courses needed to get back on track academically and mentally.

Daily goals are set so that there is immediate feedback to the young lady to know how she is progressing. Our girls will have every opportunity for success in school if they are willing to put forth the effort. Success with our program usually takes a period of 2 months for our girls to accept being in program.

and help make an impact to our youth

Our 4 Pillars of Success

Academics

Academics are defined as the courses and subjects we teach our youth today. The acquisition of studies that DBF will focus on will be, mathematics, english, social studies, science and history. Our academic goals are set to prioritize a girls future career. Our smaller classroom structure of 12 girls is to provide the necessary attention and mentoring they need to complete their studies. We believe in learning our girls by name and address them as the growing people they are. Our educational objective is that every girl accomplishes all the goals she    sets for herself.

Character

We teach the importance of having positive character and how to build productive relationships. Having character requires a constant effort on becoming a better person each and every day.

Our personal development structure is vital to enhance a women’s daily lifestyle. Lessons learned from a personal development program leads young women into making better decisions and becoming well rounded individuals.

Community Service

Volunteering helps young people gain new skills necessary for their job field such as leadership, communication skills, dependability, time management, and decision making.

Volunteering helps:

Build self-esteem

Explore and discover new things

Meet new people

Gain work experience

Accountability

Accountability empowers us to be in control of our actions in every aspect of our lives.

Accountability is contagious and empowers others to reach for optimal success. We teach our girls to always be accountable for their actions, by effectively teaching them to value their attitudes and how to respect their peers and elders. When done right, accountability can increase your skills and confidence. By being consistent and persistent on them being accountable it helps to improve their mastery of the knowledge and skills necessary to attain their desired outcome.

Our Future Outlook
Potential DBF Academy.jpg

Our goal is to purchase between 10 acres of land to began our legacy of building promising futures.

On this land, there will be a state of the art academy that will offer the following trade programs; Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Automotive, Culinary & Cosmetology. Also including the essential Home Economics, Women's History, Our Wilma Rudolph Track & field Sports Center, The DBF Creative & Fine Arts  as well as "The Ann Brown Housing" with 3 apartment buildings.

DBF has developed an agricultural program that will teach girls how to grow their own fruits and vegetables alongside raising small animals. This will cover roughly 10 acres for farming and our greenhouse. DBF will provide transportation for our young ladies to expand by doing field trips to colleges, retreats and employment opportunity's.

We at DBF believe, every young lady should have options in life when becoming successful. 30% of students drop out of college after their first year. When choosing a path to take in life sometimes comes with needed guidance and lots of support. Not every educational program was designed for every student.

Only 11.6% of students who drop out will end up transferring and getting their degrees elsewhere. Here at DBF, we have developed a program where we want to see the numbers of students going elsewhere increase their chances at success and have the opportunity to grow and become just as successful as students who attend college.

DBF is building better futures for women today by nurturing our youth and generations to come by impacting our families and communities of all cultures.
